The Client
Ai By Yay is a fashion brand. And not just any fashion brand. From the very first look at the brief and the moodboard, it was clear this was a brand that wanted to live in the same space as the best luxury houses in the world: marble, silk, architectural interiors, quiet confidence. The kind of brand that whispers rather than shouts.
The brand attributes defined the territory precisely: Neutral. Tender. Embody. Friendly. Not cold luxury. Not aspirational distance. Warm luxury. The kind that actually invites you in.

The Logo
This is the piece of the project I am most proud of, and it required real craft to get right.
The mark is a custom "ais" monogram, a ligature where the three letters flow into each other as a single continuous form. The "a" curves elegantly into the "i" which rises into the "s," and the whole thing reads as both initials and a piece of lettering that could hang on the wall of a gallery. There is fluidity to it, a softness in the strokes that matches the silk and drape of the moodboard exactly.
The sketches tell the story of how much work went into finding that form. Dozens of explorations, different approaches to how the letters could connect, before arriving at the one that felt inevitable. That sketch-to-final journey is one of the things I always want clients to see, because it shows how much a mark that looks effortless actually costs.
The monogram sits above the full wordmark "AIBYYAY" set in clean geometric capitals with precise spacing. The contrast between the flowing script monogram and the structured wordmark below it creates a visual tension that feels intentional and sophisticated. Expressive above, architectural below.


Color
The palette is built entirely from earth and skin: Dark Nude, Grey, Nude Light, Nude Grey, Nude Green, and Nude. Every single tone is warm, quiet, and considered. There is no accent color fighting for attention, no pop of something bright. The palette earns its restraint.
This is a brand that trusts its audience to lean in. The colors do not grab you. They invite you. And that distinction is the whole point.


The Identity in Context
Seeing the logo on a storefront, channel-lettered against a dark fascia, shows exactly why the mark had to be what it is. At that scale, in that material, the flowing "ais" monogram holds its elegance completely. It looks like it belongs among the best.
That is the standard every luxury fashion brand should be held to. And Ai By Yay clears it.
